Energy Recovery has secured a contract to supply its PX Q650 energy recovery devices to a new seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant in Saudi Arabia that is expected to rank among the world’s ten largest. Launched in March 2026, the PX Q650 is designed for large-scale desalination with a single moving part and a stated 30-year design life, recovering energy from high-pressure reject streams to reduce the power needed to produce fresh water. The order follows earlier PX Q650 contracts in Asia and the Middle East and supports the Kingdom’s water security goals under Vision 2030.
